January is always a very significant time of the year - mainly because of how absolutely skint we all are - but also because it's the start of a new year, and we get to pledge our allegiance to a new set of resolutions that, come February, we will completely forget about until next January, when we make our slightly revised versions of exactly the same list all over again.

So, without further ado, here's mine:

HAVE FAITH IN MYSELF
And my ability to work on these resolutions. Beyond February.

GET FITTER
If by December this year I can do three burpees without needing to take a 5 minute break between each I will be satisfied.

SAY 'NO' MORE
i.e. stop getting myself into situations I don't want to be in because I was too polite to say 'no, thanks' or 'sorry, I can't.'

GIVE SOMETHING BACK
I'm determined to do as much fundraising/voluntary work I can this year in order to help some good causes and give a little something back.

TRAVEL MORE
This year in particular I'd love to cover Dubrovnik, Stockholm and (pushing ones luck here) New York.

PUT THE PHONE DOWN
Step away from the Instagram feed.

CHOOSE WELL, BUY LESS
Starting with jeans! I cannot keep buying cheap black "jeans" that end up dark grey with faded knee patches after just a few washes.

FOCUS ON ME
My number one procrastination technique is to focus on anything and anyone else besides myself and my life/well-being/happiness etc etc. This year I want to take as much time out as I can to be a little selfish and just work on me, for me.

I'm hoping that this time next year I'll be in a much more positive place, both mentally and physically, and I may even be on a record 5 burpees you never know!

HNY! <3
